Who We Are
We are a peculiar people (Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 2:9) who follow the simple pattern and examples of worship given to us through an inspired Bible. We proclaim that salvation is only through Christ, and only by hearing the gospel, believing, repentance, obedience and then living in accordance with God’s unchangeable Word. On Pentecost, 33 AD, when asked what one must do to be saved, Peter answered, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38) Then (Acts 2:41), as now, submission to Jesus Christ through immersion in water to simulate his death, burial and resurrection is essential.
The fundamental acts of worship have not changed since New Testament times, when inspired men guided and corrected the church. We meet and partake of the Lord’s Supper every first day of the week (Acts 20:7), we praise God through acapella singing, we pray, proclaim God’s message and give of our means.
The only head of the church is Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23). There is no formal organization above the congregational level. We are, however, united with our brothers and sisters worldwide in Spirit. (Ephesians 4:3-6)
We welcome you to study, fellowship and to worship with us. Whether you are just beginning your walk with Jesus, continuing your walk, or, if you have strayed and want to reunite- we are the church of Christ.
